Compare Q05 FOB and CIF offers with named places, exact propulsion, carrier acceptance, insurance and excluded destination costs.
Align vehicle identity and accepted preparation
Record VIN, original market, steering, BEV or PHEV configuration and equipment included in both quotations. Use the quote comparison file before isolating freight figures. An offer for an unprepared used car is not equivalent to one including defined work and complete evidence. Name inspection, preparation and included charging items explicitly. If the supplier changes the vehicle, refresh the movement assumptions rather than carrying forward a quote for the first candidate. A generic Q05 description cannot establish the actual systems or configuration the carrier will handle, and a brochure photograph does not identify the accepted shipment.
Specify the full named-place and term wording
Request the delivery basis, named port or place and applicable Incoterms edition where used. FOB and CIF concern maritime arrangements; a freight or contract professional should confirm whether the proposed term is suitable for the actual container or multimodal movement. The export process file separates documentary and operational stages. Do not assume shorthand used in a supplier message has a complete technically appropriate meaning. Incoterms do not independently settle every payment, ownership, inspection or dispute issue. Those require the parties’ agreement and relevant professional advice, not a broad interpretation of three letters copied into the vehicle quotation.
Itemise China-side services and exclusions
Ask which inspection, preparation, inland movement, documentation, handling and port services are included. Request prices or agreed methods, validity and assumptions for items still conditional. The price guide keeps vehicle value distinct from movement expenses. Defined repairs or equipment replacement should not disappear inside an unexplained shipping allowance. Avoid counting the same preparation under more than one line. A lower term total may exclude necessary work that another quotation includes. Preserve exclusions beside each offer so the buyer can compare complete responsibility rather than reward the quote with the least clearly described scope.
Get carrier acceptance for the actual energy system
Provide relevant vehicle and battery-system information, configuration and preparation documents to the responsible agent. The shipping file distinguishes movement options without declaring every electrified car universally accepted or prohibited. Ask what applies to this BEV or PHEV on the proposed service and who will supply required evidence or preparation. Do not invent a universal state-of-charge instruction or assume generic SUV freight confirms eligibility. Charging hardware and other included items may need their own handling answers. If the car or equipment changes, recheck acceptance rather than treating the original carrier reply as approval of every vehicle with the same badge.
Review insurance and destination readiness separately
Identify the policy provider, value, actual coverage, exclusions, excess and claims process with appropriate advice. CIF is not a guarantee that every prior defect or transport event will be reimbursed. Preserve a dated pre-shipment condition record. Obtain current local estimates for release, taxes, agency work, inland delivery and applicable compliance or registration. The landed-cost worksheet keeps those boundaries visible. Freight to a destination port is not automatically a road-ready car at the buyer’s address. Do not assume two insured quotations provide identical protection merely because both include a short insurance line.
Approve a complete comparable commercial route
Put vehicle, preparation, movement, policy scope and local readiness on a consistent comparison. Highlight unresolved acceptance or charge questions and name the responsible parties. Use the import-versus-local review where a local alternative may be clearer or better supported. Pause important uncertainties rather than hiding them in a generous contingency. The purpose is a coherent route for one accepted car, not the cheapest trade-term label. This guide does not supply applicable tax rates or enforceable risk allocation for every jurisdiction. The actual agreement, named places, policy and professional confirmation govern the particular purchase and shipment.

Does CIF mean a Q05 is ready to register and drive at destination?
No. Confirm local release, taxes, compliance, registration and delivery separately from freight and insurance.
Can one electrified-SUV quote approve every Q05 shipment?
No. Obtain carrier requirements for the actual system, vehicle, service and included equipment. Do not transfer another shipment’s acceptance automatically.
