Compare Q05 original-market records, steering, charging, software and support before choosing a China or Thailand specification.
Identify production origin and the intended sales market
Request the vehicle identifiers, production record, manufacturer documentation and original-market description. Production country and sales market are separate fields: one does not automatically establish the other. Match them with photographs of the actual car and its documents. Use the generation identity file to establish BEV rather than relying on the NEVO translation. Record whether the supplier is quoting an existing identified car or a conditional sourcing target. Do not describe a manufacturer range announcement as available export stock. If the offered identity changes, reopen the comparison rather than carrying the first car’s approval into a substitute.
Compare records rather than mixing regional headline numbers
Place the applicable specification sheets beside each offer and label their market and publication context. Changan Thailand publishes its domestic Q05 sheet and separately identifies an export-power reference; neither is a universal record for every Chinese listing. Use the market-specific specification guide to keep power, battery, dimensions and equipment attached to the correct candidate. Do not compare range claims without naming their test basis, or treat similar trim labels as identical equipment packages. Where the original sheet cannot be obtained, call the feature pending instead of filling the gap from a more favourable overseas brochure.
Resolve steering and approval before optional features
Confirm original steering position, the applicable destination requirements and the documents accepted by the receiving authorities. Use the LHD-versus-RHD purchasing review when steering controls the shortlist. Do not assume that a commercially advertised conversion provides the same approval or support as an original configuration. Have qualified destination professionals confirm the actual registration route before payment. A cheaper car that cannot satisfy an essential approval requirement is not an equivalent alternative. Conversely, an appropriate original-market package may deserve its price when the evidence is clear, not simply because the seller calls it international specification.
Test charging and connected services independently
Request the actual inlet, charging record and supported equipment, then compare them with the destination supply and operators. The charging compatibility guide separates physical appearance from demonstrated operation. Language, phone projection, remote account services and OTA support require their own checks through the software file. A successful Thailand demonstration does not establish use in another country. Do not price a promised future software change as an installed function. If a service is essential, require a supported outcome before accepting the car; otherwise record that it remains unconfirmed and value the local functions separately.
Obtain support and quotation answers for both actual variants
Ask receiving workshops about parts identification, diagnostic access and the exact powertrain. The VIN-based parts guide prevents an apparently shared body from becoming an interchangeability assumption. Verify any warranty with its provider and destination scope. Normalise inspection, preparation, movement and local release using the quotation evidence comparison. A supplier’s export experience is useful context but not a guarantee of support for this specification. Keep quote validity and exclusions visible. The comparison should show a complete workable route rather than just the vehicle amount converted into a common currency.
Choose an evidenced route and retain its exceptions
Accept the specification that meets steering, approval, energy, essential functions and support requirements at a coherent total. Investigate a defined missing input when it can reasonably change the answer; reject a configuration that fails a non-negotiable condition. Record optional equipment and accepted service limitations beside the VIN. Use the import-versus-local comparison if a locally supplied alternative may solve a support gap. No original market is automatically the best for every buyer. A well-documented choice should remain defensible after an updated quote, another shipment proposal or a change in the supplier’s available candidates.
Buyer approval checklist
Use these fields as a candidate-specific decision record. Assign each unresolved item before approving payment or shipment.
- Original production and market records
- Candidate-specific specification sheet
- Steering and destination approval confirmed
- Charging and regional services assessed
- Support and like-for-like delivery totals

Does a Thailand Q05 brochure describe a China-market offer?
Not automatically. Match the sheet to the actual market, production and configuration; identify any differences explicitly before valuing the offer.
Does a Chinese supplier mean the vehicle was manufactured in China?
No. Verify production origin separately from the supplier’s location and the original sales market. A quotation should state the actual vehicle, not imply its identity from geography.
