NEVO Q05 LHD vs RHD: Choosing an Original Configuration

Choose an original LHD or RHD Q05 that meets destination approval and the buyer’s driving requirements. Steering position is not a convenience detail to resolve after a deposit: it can determine registration, parts and daily visibility. Request evidence for the offered car rather than assuming a reference cabin photograph or an export badge identifies its original configuration. Keep BEV and earlier PHEV records separate.

Choose a Q05 steering configuration through original identity, registration requirements, visibility, equipment and service support.

01

Make steering a fixed sourcing requirement

Ask qualified destination professionals which steering arrangements can be imported and registered for the intended use. Record any production, age or document conditions they identify without turning advice for one jurisdiction into a universal rule. Use the export eligibility file before comparing prices. Tell the supplier whether original LHD or original RHD is mandatory and whether the target is BEV or PHEV. An offer that misses this requirement should not enter the comparable shortlist simply because the exterior and price are attractive. Do not leave an essential condition hidden in a general message about suitable cars.

02

Verify the original configuration of the candidate

Request production information, applicable original-market records and clear photographs of the actual cabin and identifiers. The market identity comparison separates factory origin from where the seller operates. Look for inconsistencies between records, photographs and the quotation. A sample RHD picture is not evidence that a quoted VIN is RHD, while a replacement dashboard does not by itself establish the original arrangement. Keep any reported alteration as a separate investigation item. Do not represent a conversion as factory-equivalent without appropriate technical, approval and support evidence for that specific vehicle and destination.

03

Trial visibility and ordinary operation

Use the intended driver settings and a permitted safe trial to assess mirrors, sightlines, controls, manoeuvring and passenger access. Consider the normal road environment and parking routine rather than only an empty demonstration area. The garage and parking-fit guide supplies the physical access questions. Record the vehicle, route and conditions used for the trial. Cameras may assist but do not replace direct observation or create clearance. A legally acceptable steering arrangement can still be inconvenient for a particular driver, so practical preference should be recorded independently from registration permission.

04

Check equipment and software for the original market

Confirm lighting, cameras, assistance hardware, language, phone integration and the functions essential to the buyer. Use the ADAS assessment and software compatibility file without copying one market’s complete equipment list into another. Similar trim names can conceal different packages. A screen demonstration does not prove supported remote account ownership or regional services. Keep the feature record attached to the actual steering and market configuration. Do not promise that a software update can change every regional limitation, and do not count an unverified service as confirmed value in the quoted premium.

05

Confirm parts and qualified service access

Ask the receiving workshop about configuration-specific body, cabin, steering and electronic parts, including identification and installation support. The spare-parts matching guide is more useful than assuming LHD and RHD components are interchangeable. Obtain warranty answers from the actual provider, not a general overseas advertisement. If alterations are present, request qualified assessment and a supported parts route before treating the vehicle as equivalent to an original example. The cheapest sourcing route may not be attractive if ordinary servicing depends on unavailable or poorly identified components. Keep that exposure visible rather than concealing it in a token reserve.

06

Compare only configurations that satisfy the approval gate

Normalise inspection, preparation and delivery costs for acceptable candidates, then compare equipment and practical fit. Use the current sourcing file to preserve which evidence is confirmed and which remains pending. A more expensive original configuration can be justified by a clear legal and service route, but there is no universal steering premium. Record the final agreement by VIN and repeat the review for any substitute. If original steering cannot be established or destination acceptance remains unresolved, pause or select another car rather than buying first and expecting a future modification to fix the problem. If remote viewing is necessary, request one continuous candidate-specific cabin recording with the relevant identifiers and controls, then reconcile it with the original records. A walkaround can support identity questions, but it does not replace approval advice or a qualified assessment of any reported alteration.

Buyer approval checklist

Use these fields as a candidate-specific decision record. Assign each unresolved item before approving payment or shipment.

  • Destination steering requirements documented
  • Original arrangement tied to the actual VIN
  • Real driver and parking trial
  • Market-specific lighting and electronic functions
  • Parts and service route for the selected arrangement

NEVO Q05 LHD vs RHD: Choosing an Original Configuration: buyer questions

Does the RHD cabin image on this guide prove an offered car is RHD?

No. It is a representative newer BEV image. Request the actual candidate photographs and original production and market records.

Should a conversion be valued as an original factory configuration?

Not without appropriate evidence. Establish technical condition, approval and support separately; a seller’s claim of equivalence does not settle those issues.
